Although the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act had many opponents, it also had many supporters. The American Medical Association was one of the latter, and this letter from the AMA's president expresses that support by stating the following: "After careful review and consideration, the Board of Trustees of the American Medical Association (AMA) supports passage of the health system reform legislation under consideration in the House as a step forward in the journey to provide health care coverage for all Americans."
